Dear Friends,

I would like to invite you to join me in a life changing, faith deepening experience in the Holy Land.  We will walk where Jesus walked, sail the waters of the Sea of Galilee, encounter the baptismal waters of the Jordan River, stand on the shores of the Feeding of the Five Thousands, and much more. Jerusalem, the City of David, is overflowing with biblical history. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, walk the Via Dolorosa, and enjoy a special service at the Garden Tomb.

Last December I had my first pilgrimage to Israel and it was amazing!  My eyes were opened to a new and deeper level of the Scriptures as I experienced them first hand in the Holy Land.  I felt a part of the story as I visited these historical sites.  I knew that I would need to return and bring a group of church friends with me.  I believe that every Christian will benefit from experiencing the faith through a trip like this.

I am returning February 8-17, 2016 and would love for you to join me.    We will study, worship, dialogue, and encounter one another in faith.  If you would like to consider this special journey, let me encourage you to pray about it and talk with me about it.  I believe it can be one of the most exciting and enriching experiences in your life.

As your host I will be making sure that no detail is overlooked.  During our pilgrimage we shall stay at first-class hotels for a fair, all inclusive price of $3,949.00.  An experienced English-speaking guide will lead us to inspiring locations.  All hotel and restaurant arrangements have been made in advance in each city, so I can assure you that we will have a completely carefree and expertly planned trip.

Our arrangements are being handled by Wilcox World Travel and Tours, a premiere agency recognized for their supreme care and long experience in Christian and Missionary tours.   My experience with them has been wonderful, first as a guest and now as a host.  We will travel from Raleigh to Newark and into Tel Aviv.  We will stay three nights in beautiful Tiberius, by the Sea of Galilee.  You will realize right away why Jesus spent so much of his ministry there! Four nights in Jerusalem and you will be awe-struck by the centuries of faith-filled history.  The energy of the city is exhilarating.

Our tour is not like most of the tours you will find on the Internet.  Unlike many other tours, we will fly as a group and will be picked up by our driver and guide at the airport. Our tour includes everything you need and more.  You will not be nickeled and dimed for optional excursions and fees.  All you will be responsible for are your lunches and personal purchases.

Please know that the Holy Land is a safe place to visit.   I had significant concerns about safety before my travel last year.  You may be experiencing some of these same concerns.  I can assure you, now that I’ve been there, the political climate there is much different than what we see on the news.  Israel is a very safe place for travel.   If anything changes that would compromise our safety we will not go.

While this tour is primarily geared for our church members we encourage you to invite other friends and family members.  In fact, I have negotiated an incentive for you to do so!  If you invite a friend or family member outside the First Presbyterian Church family, then you will receive a $50 discount, per referred participant.

When I set out to pick the dates for this trip I was drawn to include Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.  What a wonderful experience it will be to celebrate Lent in the Holy Land next year.  We will set our eyes toward the love and sacrifice of Jesus and encounter His Spirit around every corner in a very meaningful way.

Please review the accompanying brochure and registration form.  You’ll see what an amazing trip we’ve put together.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me!

Thank you for considering to join me in a faith deepening adventure!
