We are a community called to “SURGE”
This calling defines everything we do.
We live in a covenant relationship with God and with each other.
When we get together we do so for a purpose:
to SERVE our neighbors; to UNITE together for fellowship; to REFINE our faith;
to GLORIFY our God; and to EQUIP each other for ministry.

We SERVE our neighbors . . .

. . . through mission and outreach. Jesus said, "as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." We are called to feed the hungry, help the homeless, visit the sick, clothe the naked (Matthew 25). We do this through various service opportunities throughout the year - both locally and away. Our Senior High students participate in our Summer Mission Trip, typically in mid-June. Middle School students particpate in the Magical Mystery Tour in July which gives them an introduction to mission and service. We also host the Souper Bowl of Caring luncheon to raise money for local hunger programs.

We UNITE together for fellowship . . .

. . . each Sunday night, during the school year. Sunday Night Fellowship (SNF) is the central ministry opportunity for our youth is our weekly fellowship meetings. This is a time of fun, worship, friendship, Bible study, music, and games. Youth meet to share their lives, to grow spiritually, and to support and encourage one another through the love of Christ.

We REFINE our faith . . .

. . . study and learning is a cornerstone of church life in the reformed tradition. Through various activities in our youth program, youth are encouraged to build their lives of faith. We explore and learn about a variety of different topics throughout the year. We have Bible studies, learn about the effects of drugs and alcohol, learn how to cope with stress, etc. We also offer Retreat and Conference opportunities for our youth. High School youth attend the Montreat Youth Conference in early July. Middle School students participate in the Magical Mystery Tour which is a surprise road-trip retreat.

We GLORIFY God . . .

. . . through our worship and service. Our weekly fellowship (SNF) and annual retreats and conferences provide opportunity to worship and praise the God who loves us and deserves to be glorified. .

We EQUIP each other for ministry . . .

. . . We need each other. Our purpose connects us. Our tools for ministry are compassion, hope, faith, trust, and love.

THEME VERSE: “Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:16-17)
